Symbolic ceremony on a beautiful Aruban beach

Couples from all over the world travel to Aruba to experience a truly unique wedding or vow renewal ceremony by a non-denominational reverend or religious pastor in a beautiful tropical setting. Our preferred ceremony location is amazing Eagle Beach frequently chosen as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world and only a few minutes away from the resorts and cruise ships. We offer Wedding, Renewal of vows and Commitment ceremonies for just the two of you and groups.

But of course there are more beautiful locations to choose from like Palm Beach, Arashi Beach, Manchebo Beach, Faro Blanco Lighthouse, Alto Vista Chapel and many more.

Legal civil weddings

All legal civil weddings take place in the historical town hall of Aruba. See below for an overview of the required documents. And if you prefer it's possible to make a combination of both civil wedding and beach ceremony the same day.

Aruba civil wedding document requirements

  1) Couple must submit a certificate of no impediment for bride and groom (also referred to as a single status report and in some states called a negative statement of marriage) This certificate of no impediment could be obtained at the bureau of vital statistics which is located in the department of health * This document needs an Apostille Click here for a few examples of the US single status report.

2) Copies of birth certificate (long form) for bride and groom containing the names of your parents * This documnent needs an Apostille

3) If either party has been divorced we need to receive a copy of the 1st and last page of the divorce decree(s) * This document needs an Apostille

4) If either party is a widow(er) we need to receive a copy of the pertaining death certificate * This document needs an Apostille

* All the above mentioned documents need an Apostille. Apostilles can be obtained at the office of State (Secretary of State).

5) Valid passports of the couple and their witnesses. Copy of the photo and detail pages need to be submitted.

6) Intention to marry, and declaration of single status forms (ask us)

All documents are to be scanned and e-mailed for review at least one (1) month prior to the desired wedding date.

  Canadian citizens need a legalization of their Birth Certificates, Statement in lieu of Certificate of Non-Impediment and Divorce Decrees by the consul of the Netherlands in Canada.

Civil weddings are possible from Monday till Friday (10:00 am -11:30 am & 2:00 pm -3:30 pm) Closed on Wednesday afternoon.

Indien het vorige huwelijk(en) is ontbonden: uittreksels uit het echtscheidings - of overlijdensregister van de vorige(n) echtgenoot.
Verklaring van burgerlijke staat van beiden (uittreksel uit de basis administratie) Voor Belgie uittreksel uit het bevolkingsregister of getuigschrift van woonst..
Kopie paspoorten.
Kopie paspoorten van minimaal twee getuigen. (DWA kan voor getuigen zorgen als jullie die niet hebben)

Uiterlijk 4 weken voor het voorgenomen huwelijk op Aruba willen wij graag alle documenten of copiën daarvan in ons bezit hebben. Dit kan vooraf via de fax, of als gescand document naar ons verzonden worden.
Zodra deze in orde zijn bevonden stellen wij u daarvan in kennis, vervolgens maken we met u een afspraak hoe en wanneer de originele documenten naar Aruba komen, en is in principe het papierwerk klaar.
U hoeft niet een minimum aantal dagen op Aruba te zijn voordat u kunt trouwen.

 Documents for couples from Sweden

• Personuppgifter om brudparet, adress, telefon (hem och arbete) samt önskat bröllopsdatum och tid.
• Kopia på pass.
• Personbevis med bägge föräldrarnas namn.
• Om aktuellt: slutliga skilsmässohandlingar, dödsintyg av tidigare maka/make, adoptionshandlingar eller intyg om eventuella namnändringar.
• Äktenskapscertifikat.

Dokument som personbevis och äktenskapscertifikat beställs från Skatteverket. Dokumenten kan beställas på engelska. Äktheten och översättningen måste legaliseras genom en Apostille-stämpel av en Notarius Publicus. En förteckning över Notarius Publicus kan ni hitta hos Länsstyrelsen i ert län.

Vi behöver dessa minst ca. 30 dagar innan vigseln. Nu kan ni bara se fram emot ert romantiska bröllop i det tropiska Aruba!

Efter hemkomsten till Sverige ska vigseln registreras hos Skatteverket för att bli giltig i Sverige. Ni kan antingen gå till närmaste Skattekontor och visa upp vigselintyget från Aruba i original, eller ta en kopia som vidimeras av två personer och skickas till Skatteverkets Folkbokföringskontor i Stockholm.
